Alma Jantunen started her own glass studio - Lasisirkus, in Nuutajärvelle in year of 1999. Lasisirkus was rewarded Ornamon Prize in year 2007, also in 2016 got Taito Prize.

Alma’s handmade both Unique art pieces and small series have been frequently shown in Finnish National Art Collections.

Most of inspiration of the art pieces are born through Alma’s momentary imageries and feelings. The shapes quickly change their character on the screen of the mind, then the thoughts have to be quickly grabbed into memory. Doing them makes it much harder to get out. Quick plans can be used to plan the implementation, technology and dimensioning of the work.

The soft and heavy material themselves bring life and natural movement to the objects. Alma’s sculptures take shape from living beings, plants, insects or even a snowball. The colors, polished rocks and landscapes of the skyline settle into the glass sculptures at the moment of cooling, but there is still movement in the colors and shapes that is created by the glassblowing. From somewhere in the same world, all ideas seem to come from, somewhere where there is a lot of color and soft shapes.
